When you pick up the new document, you must hand in the old one. So do not forget it. You can pick up your passport without an appointment at the reception desk or use the home delivery service.

Please note! Children need permission to apply for a passport

Rush request

Can't wait a week for your new passport? Then you can use an urgent procedure. You do not need to make an appointment for an urgent application. If you submit the urgent application before 2 p.m., you can pick up your passport (usually) the next working day at the reception desk. Has your travel document gone missing? Then an urgent procedure can only be started if the missing passport was applied for in Leudal. Are you leaving today? Then go to the website of the marechaussee for an emergency passport.

What do I need?

What to bring:

  • All travel documents (passport and/or Dutch identity card) that are still in your possession or have not yet been invalidated. Don't have an expired passport or identity card? Then bring other documents to prove who you are.
  • A passport photo cannot be older than 6 months and must meet the passport photo requirements. Want to make sure your photo meets the requirements? Then go to a professional photographer. School photos are not suitable and will not be accepted.
  • Bank card or cash to pay.

Younger than 18 years of age

  • Yourself. You apply for your passport in person and pick it up yourself. Your parents or guardians may come with you
  • All your identity documents and passports. Even if they have expired
  • A passport photo that meets the passport photo requirements. School photographs are not appropriate and will not be accepted.
  • ID or copy of ID from both parents or those with parental authority
  • Debit card or cash: you pay the fee at the time of application
  • Consent of both parents or those with custody

Consent of authority holder(s).

Children under the age of 18 need permission from the custodial parent(s) to apply. This is/are usually the parent(s).

If there are 2 custody holders, they must both give consent. This can be done in 3 ways.

  • Both of you come with the child. Both parents/guardians come together with the child to apply for the identity card. Both parents/guardians bring a valid ID.
  • 1 parent/legal guardian comes with a valid ID. The parent/legal guardian who does not come along fills out the digital consent form.
Advice: Both of you fill out the digital consent form before your visit to City Hall to apply for the identity card. For this you need DigiD.

    Give digital consent

  • 1 parent/guardian comes with you. The parent/guardian who does not come with you will fill out the consent form and bring it to City Hall. You can download the consent form below. In addition, please bring valid proof of identity from both of you.
