Environmental Permit Application

If you are going to build or remodel something, you usually need an environmental permit. This also applies to minor work such as a fence, window frame or roof terrace.

Permit Check

The permit check tells you which activities you need to apply for an environmental permit for. Except for departing from the environmental plan. You must look up for yourself whether your plan fits within environmental plan.

The application

An environmental permit always consists of 1 or more activities, depending on what you are going to do and where you are going to do it.

  • The basis is the construction activity itself, such as making an addition or installing solar panels.
  • Use the permit check to see if you need a notification or an environmental permit for the construction activity. You can also see what other permissions may also be required (e.g. demolition, monument, construction).
  • We advise you to submit a draft request first. You will then hear whether your plans are promising and feasible. You will also hear whether your plan fits within the environmental plan. And what procedure is required. We will also tell you what information you need to provide.
  • If your plan complies with the rules of the environmental plan, but requires a permit, you will also need an environmental permit for the activity "building in the environmental plan activity" (OPA)
  • If your plan does not fit into the environmental plan, you can apply for an "out-of-plan environmental plan activity" (BOPA). More information can be found on the BOPA page.
  • If applicable, your application will also be submitted to the physical environment committee. This committee assesses whether:
    • your plan complies with reasonable standards of appearance and/or
    • the landscaping is adequate;
    • the Note on Quality is met.
  • An environmental dialogue is a mandatory part of the environmental permit application.
