Elections City Council 2026

In 2026 there will again be municipal elections in the Netherlands. During these elections, residents choose who will serve on the municipal council. The municipal council decides on important issues in the municipality, such as housing, Health, work, traffic and sports.

Everyone aged 18 and older who lives in the municipality and is eligible to vote will receive a voting pass at home. With this voting pass you can go to a polling station on election day. There you will hand in your voting card and receive a ballot paper. You fill this out with a red pencil.

It is important to vote. This way you can let people know what you think is important for your neighborhood and your community.

My passport, Map or driver's license has been lost or stolen. How can I still vote?

You may vote if you present a Statement of Missing Persons at the polling station, together with a document showing your name and photo, such as a public transport chip card. You can apply for a Statement of Missing Persons at the municipality.
