Proxy voting

Do you want someone else to vote for you? Then grant someone a proxy.

What is proxy voting?

If you are unable to come to the polling place yourself or prefer not to make the trip to the polling place, there are other options for you to still cast your vote. One of these options is to authorize someone else. This proxy can then fill out a ballot paper on your behalf. A proxy may accept a maximum of 2 proxies.

How can you give someone a private or written power of attorney?

  • Private power of attorney

    • Wait until you have received your voting pass. Together with the person who is authorized to vote on your behalf, fill in the back of the voting pass and both sign it. In the case of a private proxy, you must provide a copy of your ID (which may be expired for up to 5 years) to the person who will vote on your behalf. You can only grant a private proxy to a person who votes in the same municipality.

      You can revoke a private power of attorney by requesting the return of the voting pass and casting your vote yourself.

  • Written power of attorney

    • As a resident of the municipality of Leudal, you can also authorize someone who does not live in the municipality of Leudal. To do so, you must request a written power of attorney from the municipality of Leudal. This can be done until Friday, March 13, 2026.
      You and the authorized representative must complete the form (model form L8) and both sign it. You can then send the completed and signed form to the municipality of Leudal, Postbus , 6093 ZG Leudal, or hand it in at the reception desk of the town hall, Leudalplein 1, Heythuysen.

    If you wish to apply for a written power of attorney digitally, please proceed as follows:
    the person granting the power of attorney and the authorized representative submit a digital application for a power of attorney simultaneously behind the same computer, via the website of the Municipality of Leudal. You both need DigiD for this.

    Digital proxy application Available from February 3.

    The municipality will then send the proxy certificate to the person authorized to vote on your behalf by Monday, March 16, 2026, at the latest. 

    Please take into account that sending the voting pass may take longer than 3 working days!

    A power of attorney granted in writing cannot be revoked.

Please note that a proxy may accept a maximum of 2 proxies.

Voting pass and proxy

When someone casts a proxy vote it should always be done at the same time as casting their own vote.
