Sandwich and or triangle signs (maximum size 1.50 x 1.00 meters)

A maximum of six sandwich and/or triangular signs per political party per core area may be placed. These signs may remain in place from February 3 until April 1, 2026, at the latest. No permit or notification is required for placement. There are also no costs involved. However, you must take a number of regulations into account. For example, sandwich and/or triangular signs must be placed within built-up areas, in traffic-safe locations, and, of course, they must not cause any nuisance. In addition, no signs may be placed in front of or around traffic signs, lampposts with traffic signs, or traffic lights.

Large election signs (maximum size of 3m2)

Large election signs may be placed from February 3 until April 1, 2026, at the latest. You do not need to apply for a building permit for the temporary presence of these signs. A maximum of three large election signs per political party may be placed per town center and associated outlying area.

Liability

The person responsible for the posting, placement and collection of sandwich and/or triangle signs and large election signs is and will remain liable for damage caused to another's property.

Removal of sandwich and/or triangular signs and large election signs

When sandwich and/or triangle signs, large election signs do not comply with the rules, they will be removed. The cost of this must be paid by the placer.

Inside and outside the polling station

No activities aimed at influencing voters in their choice may take place in the polling station. The chairman of the polling station may stop voting if, in his opinion, circumstances occur in or near the polling station that impede the progress of voting. The placement of sandwich signs near a polling station is permitted, however, provided that it is placed at least 25 meters from the entrance to a polling station.

For more information on the rules inside and outside the polling station, visit the Electoral Council website.
