City Council

What does the Leudal municipal council do?

The municipal council is the voice of Leudal. The council consists of 25 council members who are elected every four years by you and other eligible voters from Leudal. Together, they determine what is important for the municipality and keep a close eye on the mayor and aldermen. 

Three important tasks

  1. Currently working on: Representing your voice

    Council members bring up issues that are important to Leudal. They listen to residents and take their ideas and concerns into account when making decisions.

  2. Still to do: Mark out the lines

    The council determines the guidelines and points of attention. These include good Health the elderly, sufficient sports facilities, and pleasant places to live. The municipal executive then elaborates these plans.

  3. Currently working on: Checking that everything is going well

    Has the agreed policy actually been implemented? And is this being done properly and within budget? The city council checks this and makes adjustments if necessary.

When does the city council meet?

The council meets approximately once every six weeks in the Council Chamber. These meetings are open to the public, so you are more than welcome to take a seat in the public gallery from 7:30 p.m. If you are unable to attend the council meeting in person, you can still follow it live via the local broadcaster ML5 or via the livestream on the website.

Contacting the City Council

If you wish to address the entire council, you can do so via the Municipal Clerk’s Office. If you Committee member contact an individual council or Committee member , you can do so via their Leudal email address. Letter to council

If you wish to send a letter to the council, you must address it to the council and Municipal Clerk’s Office to the Municipal Clerk’s Office via raadsgriffie@leudal.nl. In your letter, you can explain your position or request, for example, on a topic in your neighborhood. The Municipal Clerk’s Office your letter to the council. Speaking Rights

If you see an agenda item that you would like to comment on during a committee meeting, please contact the Municipal Clerk’s Office. The email must contain at least your name, telephone number, and email address so that we can contact you. You must also indicate which agenda item you would like to speak about and the topic you would like to discuss. If your request is accepted, you will be given a maximum of 5 minutes to speak at the relevant committee meeting.

If you are unable to attend in person, you can also Municipal Clerk’s Office your statement to the Municipal Clerk’s Office , which will then present it at the meeting. This allows you to express your opinion even if you are unable to attend.

What does the audit office do for the city council?

The Court of Auditors whether the municipal council spends money wisely and whether its policies are effective. In this way, the Court of Auditors aims to make Court of Auditors positive contribution to the functioning of the administration in Leudal.
