City Council composition

The municipal council is the highest governing body of a municipality. Every four years, the municipal council is elected by residents. The last municipal elections were held on March 14, 15 and 16, 2022. The number of municipal council members is related to the number of inhabitants. In Leudal, the municipal council consists of 25 council members, currently divided into six political groups. Mayor Désirée Schmalschläger chairs the municipal council. Council member Patty Peeters-Severin is acting council president.

The City Council meets approximately every 5 weeks in the Council Chamber of the City Hall. Meetings generally take place on a Tuesday and normally begin at 7:30 p.m. They are open to the public and are broadcast live on local TV by broadcaster ML5.
