Council committees
Before a decision is made on a proposal during the council meeting, a council committee discusses the proposal. They ask critical questions to the aldermen and debate the pros and cons together.

The committee meetings take place approximately every six weeks. These meetings are also broadcast live and can be viewed on our website.
Committees
The municipality of Leudal has three committees and, in addition, the audit committee:
Committee on Social
Ms. Carole Piepers serves as chair of this committee. The Council Committee on Social consults and informs the City Council on the following topics:
- Three decentralizations from the Coalition Agreement on the social domain: Youth Act, Social Support Act, Participation Act
- Participation Act
- Accommodation and grants policy
- Employment
- Social employment
- Village councils, village development and livability
- Arts and culture policy
- Volunteering and informal care
- Education and compulsory education
- Welfare, sports
- Public Health
These meetings are open to the public, so you are more than welcome to take a seat in the public gallery from 7:30 p.m. If you are unable to attend the council meeting in person, you can still follow it live via the local broadcaster ML5 or via the livestream on the website.
Physics Committee
The chairman of this committee is Mr. Jort Raemakers. The Council Physical Committee consults and informs the City Council on the following topics:
- Housing (building and living, historic preservation, public housing, trailers);
- Spatial planning (spatial plans, exploitation zoning plans, land policy and excavations, Environmental Law (General Provisions) Act);
- Rural renewal and rural functions (agriculture, nature management and recreation)
- Works
- Economy, retail, tourism and recreation, business parks, ports, waterways, SMEs, agriculture, markets)
- Public space
- Traffic and transportation
- Civil engineering (road and sewer management, structures), utilities
- Environment (environmental management, sustainability, waste management, nature and environmental education)
Administration and Resources Committee
The chairmanship of the Administration and Resources Committee is held by council member S. Backus. The Administration and Resources Committee advises and consults on the following topics, among others:
- Demographic trends
- Administrative relations
- Fire, police and medical assistance at accidents and disasters
- Public order and safety (flood protection), neighborhood prevention
- Communications
- Personnel and organization, operations
- National cooperation Vereniging Nederlandse Gemeenten, Vereniging Limburgse Gemeenten, joint arrangements
- Immigration policy, Asylum seeker center Baexem
- Dualization
- International cooperation (twinning, Euregio)
- Enforcement
- Hospitality and fairs
- Finance and tax burden
Audit Committee
The audit committee is chaired by board member Peter van Melick. The audit committee has the specific task of:
- Promoting an efficient and effective audit;
- Conducting coordination consultations on the various control activities of the City Council, the College and the Court of Audit;
- Making proposals to the City Council for the appointment of the auditor and preparing any tender procedures in that regard;
- Making proposals to the City Council for the auditor's audit protocol to be adopted annually;
- evaluating the performance of the auditor.

Citizens have the opportunity to speak on council proposals only at committee meetings and not at council meetings as well.
