Open Government Act
The Open Government Act (Woo) regulates that the municipality of Leudal make more and more public information public. The municipality already makes a lot of information public, such as organizational data, council documents and municipal laws and regulations. You do not have to submit a request for information for this. You can quickly and easily look up this information yourself at open.leudal.nl.
Filing an information or Woo request?
If you are looking for information that is not (yet) public, you can do so through a Woo request if you want the municipality to make certain information public. Do you only want information for yourself? Then you can submit an information request.
Information request
An information request is requesting information from us. You make an information request when you want information for your own use.
For example, you need the information to file a complaint or object to a decision made by the municipality. Or you want to receive a copy of a permit. We do not make the information we send you public.
Submit an information request via the general contact form.
If you make an information request, no official decision will follow from the municipality. You cannot object or appeal. In the case of a Woo request, an official decision from the municipality will follow.
Asking for information is the most common and fastest way to get information.
Woo request
With a Woo request, you ask the municipality to disclose public information recorded in documents. For example, information about why and how a decision was made. Anyone may submit a Woo request to request information about administrative matters. The Woo regulates the handling and review framework for these requests.
Requirements
Your Woo request must meet the following Requirements:
- Your request is about public information from the municipality.
- They must be documents available to the governing body.
- This is information that has been captured, no matter how the capture was made.
- Explain as precisely as possible what information you need. Explain what you want to know. Indicate whether you are looking for specific documents, such as a report, memo or decision. Also indicate the time period for which you want information. This will help the municipality provide you with the right information quickly.
After submission, the municipality may contact you for further details.
Submit a Woo request using the Open Government Act Request form. This form makes mandatory use of DigiD. Please have your DigiD login code handy.

Decision
After submitting your Woo request, you will receive an acknowledgement of receipt. The municipality will check whether the information is available and can be made public. Within 4 weeks you will hear whether you will receive the information.
Sometimes it takes longer, for example when there is a lot of information or a complicated request. The deadline can then be extended by two weeks or an appointment will be made with you. The municipality may charge a fee for providing information on paper, as stipulated in the Fees Ordinance.
Not all information may be disclosed, such as confidential or privacy-sensitive data. The grounds for exceptions are found in Chapter 5 of the Woo.
