Which market party has the appropriate vision for a future-proof indoor pool for Leudal
The Municipality of Leudal is inviting market parties to participate in thinking about the future of indoor swimming in the region. In view of the expiring operating contracts with the current swimming pool operators in 2026 and 2027, the municipality is launching a market consultation to explore what solutions and visions market parties have for a publicly accessible and future-proof indoor swimming pool in Leudal.

Working together to provide bathing water for all
The municipality currently contributes financially to the operation of two existing indoor swimming pools in Leudal. With the new accommodation policy, the course has been set to contribute to only one swimming pool in the future. This may be an existing swimming pool that is being renovated or modified, or a completely new indoor pool to be realized.
Pool Requirements
The new pool must meet social needs; school swimming, lesson swimming, club swimming, lane swimming and target group swimming are important components of this.
Purpose of the market consultation
The market consultation is intended to engage - without obligation - with potential operators about the possibilities, preconditions and ambitions. The starting point is that the swimming pool must include at least a 25-meter pool, be accessible to all target groups, and be operated in a socially responsible manner. Pricing, cooperation with associations, social involvement and sustainability are important Requirements.
Exploring together
Market parties who are interested can apply to the municipality and then receive additional information, including the documents Toekomstvisie Zwembaden Leudal and Wensen van gebruikers en verenigingen. In discussions in the third quarter of 2025, the municipality will explore the possibilities with interested parties.
Follow-up
After completion of the market consultation in the fourth quarter of 2025, a tender process will follow. The municipality will then enter into an agreement with the selected market party, subject to the approval of the municipal council. Alderman Pieke Houben:
