Grant for the restructuring of the built environment

Do you own a property in the municipality of Leudal and do you have plans to build affordable housing? If so, you may be eligible for the subsidy program for the restructuring of the built environment. This program supports projects aimed at building affordable housing, for example by contributing to the unprofitable portion of the project, demolition costs, or the (re)design of public spaces.

Grant Requirements

Do you meet Requirements listed below? If so, you can apply for the grant:

  • You own a property (land with or without buildings) in the municipality of Leudal, or have reached an agreement with the owner to carry out a project.
  • The project involves the construction of affordable housing, such as starter homes, public housing, or mid-range rental units.
  • At least two-thirds of the homes in the project must be affordable.
  • There is a loss on completion: the difference between the construction costs and the appraised market value at the time of completion.
  • The project must be financially viable with the grant.

Amount of the grant

The subsidy amounts vary depending on the type of home:

  • First-time homebuyer homes: Up to €30,000 per home
  • Affordable homes for sale: Up to €15,000 per home
  • Public housing: Up to €30,000 per unit
  • Mid-range rental homes: Up to €15,000 per home

If the homes are built within a historic landmark (listed at the national or municipal level), the subsidy amount per home is doubled.

Please note: The total grant per project may not exceed €500,000, provided that this complies with European state aid rules.

How does the application process work?

  1. Currently in progress: 1 . Submitting a draft request

Before you can apply for the grant, you must submit a draft application to the municipality. This application includes an assessment of compliance with the environmental plan and an evaluation of the spatial quality.

  2. Next steps: 2 . Grant application

Once your draft application has been approved, you can officially apply for the grant (see the application form at the bottom of this page). Your application must include a project plan, a detailed budget, and proof of ownership.

  3. Currently in progress: 3 . Receipt and use of grants

Once the grant has been awarded, you may begin the work. The work must begin within 12 months of the environmental permit being issued.
