Registration designation of political parties
Political groups that are associations with full legal capacity may request to enter their appellation (name) in the register of appellations for the purpose of the March 18, 2026 municipal election.
This register of appellations is created by the central election office for that election. Registration is necessary in order to submit a list of candidates with this name/designation above it on Monday, February 2, 2026 (candidate nomination day).
Why does registration take place?
- You want to participate with a new political group that has not been registered before;
- You want to change the name/designation of your political group for the next municipal election.
When does registration NOT take place?
- The designation of your political group has already been registered with the Electoral Council;
- Your political group submitted a valid list of candidates in the previous municipal election. In the next municipal election, you want to run under the same name.
What do you need for registration?
- A model form requesting registration of a new/modified designation. You can download this at the bottom of this web page. Please address this request to the central election office of the municipality of Leudal, Leudalplein 1, 6093 HE Heythuysen.
Please attach the following attachments:- A copy of the bylaws (recorded in a notarized deed);
- A certified certificate of registration with the Chamber of Commerce;
- Proof of payment of the deposit;
- A statement by the political party on the appointment of the authorized representative and deputy authorized representative; this statement is included in the registration request. The authorized representative performs on behalf of the political group the prescribed acts appointed in the Elections Act.
- The deposit of €112.50 for registration. This amount will be refunded when a valid list of candidates for the municipal election is submitted.
By when do you need to submit your registration?
Submit your application for registration including attachments and deposit no later than Monday, December 20, 2021.
When will a decision be made on your registration?
If you submit a request for registration, the central electoral college will decide on the matter during a closed session on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. The new designations will be announced immediately thereafter.
