Reconstruction Posthuisweg - Eindstraat in Horn

Road inspections revealed that the pavements of End Street, Posthuis Road and a portion of Huyben Street are in need of major maintenance.

During a residents' evening there was constructive discussion about the preliminary design of End Street and the accessibility of Posthuisweg. This led to some adjustments in the design of End Street and the phasing of the work on Posthuisweg.

What are we going to do?

Post house road and Huyben street

  • The entire asphalt pavement including foundation will be replaced.
  • The gutters along the asphalt including drainage gullies will be renewed.
  • The inspection manholes in the main sewer will be renovated.
  • Some house connections to the sewer system are being renewed.
  • Public lighting along Post House Road will be optimized.
  • Roadsides will be profiled and seeded.

  • The layout of public space will be optimized.
  • The entire pavement including foundation will be replaced.
    • The roadway will be made of asphalt.
    • The parking lanes, gutters and sidewalks will be constructed with baked pavers.
  • All house connections to the sewer system will be renewed up to the property line.
  • Disconnecting rainwater from the sewer is not possible due to the permeability of the subsoil.
  • Several planting beds will be created. Various types of trees and shrubs will be planted in the planting beds (see planting plan attachment (1MB)).
  • Public lighting is being optimized and renewed.

Implementation (period March 10 to June 25, 2025).

Contractor Heijmans will perform the reconstruction of this project on behalf of the municipality of Leudal. The contractor will handle all communication regarding this reconstruction.

Planning work Posthouse Road

Work on Post House Road was completed in week 17. 

Planning work on End Street and Beurik

Work on End Street was completed in week 27.  

Completed work on End Street Horn

The plantings on End Street Horn will be planted in the planting season, approximately mid-October 2025.
