Reconstruction Brigittastraat Ittervoort

What are we going to do and why?

The reason for the project "Reconstruction Brigittastraat" is the development of the new school location at the junction Brigittastraat with Heijerveld. Especially the creation of a safe route to and from this school location is an important part of the reconstruction of Brigittastraat. This reconstruction provides an opportunity to also perform necessary infrastructure maintenance. But also an opportunity to disconnect rainwater, which falls on the public area, from the wastewater sewer and let it infiltrate into the environment. We do this not only to prevent flooding, but also to prevent clean rainwater from being diverted to the sewage treatment plant. After all, it is a waste to purify relatively clean water one more time. Moreover, in this way we put less of a burden on the sewage treatment plants when it rains and can thus keep treatment costs as low as possible.

Information evenings

During the information evening for local residents and in committee meetings physically, the sketch design was explained in mid-May 2022. After this, based on responses from local residents, council and committee members and the bus company Arriva, the sketch design was modified on several points.

Planning

Due to extensive preparation time from Enexis for the grid reinforcement, it took some time before the actual reconstruction could start. Now that the work of Enexis is almost complete, the municipality of Leudal has commissioned Kurvers wegenbouw BV to carry out the work for the reconstruction of Brigittastraat. The work will take place in 4 phases. This to limit the inconvenience as much as possible. Residents have been and/or will be informed personally!
 

Phasing:

1. Bowl boundary to Lily Street
   Done
2. Lily Street to Concordia Street
   April 14 - June 13 (no through traffic possible) also not during implementation of Phase 3.

3. Concordiastraat to Napoleonsweg (N273)
   ADOPTED PLANNING

   June 2 - July 18 (the starting point is to get the reconstruction completed before the construction period)
    

Contractor Kurvers Wegenbouw works on weekdays between 07:00 and 16:15. These dates are always subject to weather and unforeseen circumstances. 

Accessibility during work phase 2

For phase 2, until Friday, June 13, homes in the work area between Lily Street and Concordiast Street will be accessible on foot, via the sidewalk or temporary walkway partitions. After June 13, residents will again be able to access their homes by passenger cars. Through traffic towards Hunsel and Ell will be diverted.  

For phase 3, this applies from June 2 through Friday, July 18. The work area is from the Magdalena Street intersection to Provincial Road/Napoleons Road.
Public Transportation

During the reconstruction of Brigittastraat Ittervoort, the bus stops along Brigittastraat cannot be served. Bus company Arriva will set up alternative routes and stops.
