Parking of large vehicles

What is it?

It is prohibited to park large vehicles on the road. This applies to trucks and coaches, for example.

Exceptions are the industrial estates Laak in Roggel, Arenbos in Neer Heldenseweg in Neer.

You can park at one of the five parking areas designated by the municipality for trucks (see Map text):

  • Kloosterstraat, Heythuysen business park
  • Platanenweg, Ittervoort business park
  • Kampstraat, Ell
  • Waije, Neer
  • Jacobusstraat, Hunsel

If you do want to park a large vehicle on the road, apply for an exemption from the municipality.

An exemption is granted for up to 10 days.

How does it work?

You need a parking waiver in the following cases:

  • your vehicle is longer than 6 meters or higher than 2.4 meters
  • you want to park Monday through Friday between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. or on weekends

Note: If you have a camper, caravan or camper van that is longer than 6 meters or higher than 2.4 meters, you may park it on the road for a maximum of 5 days. You do not need to apply for an exemption for this. You can find more information on the page Parking of caravans and campers.

  • your name and address
  • details of your vehicle
  • the street where you want to park the vehicle

  • Why you want to park your large vehicle on the road

How long does it take?

You will be notified within 8 weeks whether you will receive the waiver.
