Entrepreneurial team Leudal looks for the entrepreneur more!
The municipality of Leudal has had its own Entrepreneurial team for years. The account managers know the municipality like no other and answer all entrepreneurial questions in which the municipality plays a role. They are the first point of contact for entrepreneurs within the municipality. Michiel Boers has recently joined the team. He is happy to introduce himself to you.

My name is Michiel Boers, I am 45 years old and live in Venlo. I have been working for the municipality as Account Manager Development for 3 months now. The past 3 years I was working as policy advisor and business contact officer at the Municipality of Roerdalen.
What is your role on the Entrepreneurial team team?
As Account Manager Development, I am working daily to strengthen the local economy. I engage with entrepreneurs, knowledge institutions and other partners, think along and refer to where entrepreneurs can go. I also bring people into contact with each other. I actively visit companies, map needs and organize events to improve the entrepreneurial climate.
How do you like it so far?
Very good. In a short period of time, I had the opportunity to visit many inspiring companies, have valuable conversations and make incredibly nice contacts. What struck me most was the strength and diversity of the local business community - from innovative family businesses to growing startups with big ambitions. Every meeting confirms for me that Leudal is bursting with potential. There is so much entrepreneurship, knowledge and passion present. It is therefore my ambition to further connect and strengthen this energy, together with entrepreneurs, colleagues and network partners.
What do you want to achieve?
A good entrepreneurial climate and a healthy local economy are important for the municipality of Leudal. Entrepreneurs contribute to a thriving municipality: they make investments, provide jobs for our residents and initiate innovation and creativity. In turn, we fulfill an important role as the first government for entrepreneurs. We take that role seriously: We want to support, facilitate and encourage our entrepreneurs wherever possible. And also play an active role in this.
What should entrepreneurs expect from you?
Entrepreneurs can expect commitment, dedication and enthusiasm from me. Just like the rest of our Entrepreneurial team. I look for opportunities and possibilities in current developments and translate them into concrete projects. Always with the thought that I can help an entrepreneur. Cooperation is very important here, so I also focus on developing networks and partnerships.
So what plans do you have?
Specifically, I am working on a year-round program for entrepreneurs. This consists of entrepreneur evenings, theme and networking meetings, as well as knowledge and inspiration sessions. To start with, an entrepreneur evening will be held on June 30 for all entrepreneurs at ProefLokaal Limburg in Neer. An information meeting is planned for early September, which will focus on the sale or transfer of the company.
But I am also very active in connecting entrepreneurs with partners of the municipality, such as Keyport, LIOF, Brightlands or our own MensOntwikkelBedrijf.
