Submit housing and education projects in a timely manner to obtain an electricity connection
Are you planning to build homes or a school in the municipality of Leudal over the next ten years? And will that require a new or higher-capacity electrical connection? If so, please notify the municipality of your project.

The power grid is becoming increasingly congested. As a result, there isn’t always enough capacity to connect new projects immediately. Effective July 1, 2026, this applies to both small and large-scale consumer connections. The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) has established national rules for allocating the limited capacity on the electricity grid. Grid operators, including Enexis, therefore use a system for reserving and prioritizing transmission capacity.
The municipality coordinates registration with Enexis
The municipality of Leudal wants to ensure that planned housing and educational projects are brought to Enexis’s attention in a timely manner. For this reason, the municipality coordinates the initial submission of these projects to the grid operator. Based on established policy guidelines, the municipality determines the order in which projects are submitted to Enexis. Projects that qualify for this may therefore be placed higher on Enexis’s waiting list. This does not mean that capacity on the power grid is immediately available. The waiting list determines the order in which applications will be processed as soon as capacity becomes available.
Submit plans for the next few years now
It may take a few more years before your construction project actually gets underway. Still, it’s important to register the project now. The sooner a project is known, the sooner it can be assessed to determine whether it can be prepared for formal registration with Enexis. This helps prevent unnecessary delays at a later stage.
No warranty
Early registration does not guarantee transmission capacity. The final allocation depends on national regulations, available capacity on the power grid, and the completeness of the information provided. Failure to register or registering too late may affect when your project becomes eligible for a connection.
To which projects does this apply?
This procedure is intended for residential and educational projects in the municipality of Leudal that require a new or higher-capacity electrical connection and for which confirmation of available capacity has not yet been received from Enexis.
