Leudal pushes ahead with housing construction: new steps in all villages
Building homes remains an important priority for the municipality of Leudal. We want residents, young and old, to be able to find a suitable place to live. That is why we are once again taking important steps in various villages.

Alderman Graef and Jan den Teuling:
We have seen great progress in recent months. Many plans are becoming increasingly concrete, and research is starting in several places, or construction has even already begun. In this way, we are gradually building new homes for everyone in Leudal.
Progress in existing and new plans
Developments are taking place in all villages. A selection of the larger projects:
- Baexem: expansion on Salmenhofweg with approximately 70 homes in preparation.
- Buggenum: the first homes in Noenevershof have been completed.
- Ell: An area vision is being drawn up for new homes on the north side.
- Grathem: almost all 12 CPO homes have been completed.
- Haelen/Nunhem: redevelopment of the Corubona site for housing.
- Heythuysen: multiple plans, such as Den Hoeck (21 villas), 20 lifetime homes on Vlasstraat, concept plans for apartments on Kloosterhof, Zadelmakerslaan, and Burg. Janssen van Sonlaan, and studies into housing construction on the former Ortolaan and Ursula sites.
- Horn: the sports fields are being investigated for housing development.
- Hunsel: 24 homes under development, with affordable purchase and social rental options.
- Ittervoort: the school site that will become available will be investigated for residential development from 2026 onwards.
- Kelpen-Oler: plan for 37 homes; permit has been applied for.
- Neer: draft plan for Maasfront Hanssum 27 apartments and catering facilities.
- Roggel: major development of Kikveld (approx. 100 homes), exploration of north side next to Reppelveld, 34 social housing units on Beeklaan–Pietersplein, plans for Markt and Kloosterstraat.
Building in small communities
In 2026, work will continue on housing construction in Heibloem, Neeritter, and Nunhem, in collaboration with partners, including housing associations. A total of approximately 30 homes will be built, including on social locations that are becoming available.
Building a future for everyone together
With the Housing Acceleration Agenda and the restructuring fund, Leudal remains committed to affordable housing and appropriate plans in all villages. Alderman Graef:
We will continue to push forward. By working closely with residents, developers, and corporations, we can pick up the pace and ensure future-proof residential areas.
