Individual income supplement
What is it?
If you have an income of less than 130% of your applicable social assistance standard for 24 months or more and you demonstrably have no prospect of income improvement, you may be eligible for an individual income supplement. An individual income supplement is an allowance for people who have to live on a low income for a long period of time.
The individual income supplement is tax-free and is paid once every 12 months. If your situation does not change, you may become eligible for an individual income supplement again after 12 months.
Submit your application on time, as the individual income supplement cannot be awarded retroactively.
What to do.
To qualify for the individual income supplement, you must meet the following Requirements:
- You are 21 or older but have not yet reached retirement age;
- You have been dependent for 24 months on an income that on average does not exceed 130% of the applicable social assistance standard. You can find the standards on the Rijksoverheid website.
- Your assets do not exceed the asset limit. You can find the amounts on the Rijksoverheid website.
- You have no prospect of income improvement.
Are you married or living together? Then you must both fully meet the Requirements.
Does only one of you both meet the Requirements? Then there is no right to the individual income supplement.
