Submission of statements of support

What is this

A statement of support is a statement by which you support a list of candidates of a political party/group.
Declarations of support are required when parties:

• participating in the election for the first time
• Did not win a seat(s) in the previous election
• participate with a blank list (no party name registered)

Support statements

In order to participate in municipal elections, a political party/group must, among other things, submit a list of candidates supported by at least 20 voters.
The party/group completes the declaration of support, which is then presented to the voter for signature. The voter signs this declaration at the town hall and identifies themselves with valid identification.

Who may sign statement of support

Anyone who submits a statement of support must be eligible to vote (i.e., registered in the BRP) in the municipality of Leudal on February 2, 2026 (the day of nomination). Individuals who are listed as candidates may also sign a statement of support.

It is not permitted to sign more than one declaration of support per person. A declaration of support cannot be withdrawn.

When

A declaration of support can be submitted, upon presentation of valid identification, from January 19 to February 2, 2026, and on February 4 and 5, 2026, at the Leudal town hall.
