Residential facilities (Wmo)
What is it?
The municipality can help you if you can no longer use your home normally. For example, due to an illness or disability. It may make sense to improve the accessibility, accessibility and other possibilities for using your home. Support in this from the municipality is called a housing facility. The starting point is that you can wash yourself and can eat, sleep, cook and do the important household chores. Sometimes a move may prove to be the best solution.
The municipality will work with you to find a solution that allows you to continue to live well and independently in your own home. If necessary, you can file a notification for a residential facility.
How does it work?
What support the municipality provides depends on what is the best solution for you. Together with the municipality, the first step is to see what solutions are possible together with people from your own environment. These may be family, friends or acquaintances but also your neighbors. We call this using your 'own strength'.
Does this not work or not enough? Then the municipality can arrange help in consultation with you.
Various types
In most cases, you arrange for housing assistance with a personal budget. Here you arrange the support yourself. The municipality will discuss with you what the best solutions are. It may involve adapting the existing home or a housing allowance in the form of a moving allowance. For a housing allowance, you pay a contribution of up to €21 per month. More information on the CAK website.
What to do.
I need help
To determine what kind of help is best for you, contact the municipality. This is called making a "notification" of your (help) request. You can do this easily using the notification form below.
I filed a report. How to proceed now?
If necessary, a customer director of Wmo from the municipality will contact you to make an appointment for a personal interview. This can be at a location of your preference. You can always bring someone along, for example a family member or a professional social worker or client supporter, to the meeting with the client director. You can request free client support from Algemeen Maatschappelijk Werk Leudal (tel.: 088 - 656 06 00). During the interview, we look at your question and what support is appropriate. But also what you can do yourself or with the help of your family or surroundings. Together we look for a tailor-made solution. For more information, go to the kitchen table consultation.
What does it cost?
There is no charge for submitting a Wmo notification form.
How long does it take?
When you report for support, the municipality may take 8 weeks to process your report, interview and grant the facility. In practice, this may also be shorter.
It may take longer if, for example, outside consultants need to be consulted (e.g., medical advice) or if you yourself fail to provide certain information in time.
Additional information
The municipality is required by law to investigate the situation of people who come forward with a request for support. This investigation takes place together with the client and his surroundings. In this investigation, the municipality looks at what a person can still do themselves and how the environment can support them.
The municipality also looks at the support a person already receives from other laws, such as the Participation Act, Health Insurance Act or Youth Act. The investigation shows whether the client needs support. Each municipality organizes this investigation in its own way.
