Roadwork on the N279 in Roggel & Heythuysen
Between kilometer markers 1.83 and 7.85, Province of Limburg

Fromweek 23 through week 27( June 1, 2026, through July 3), KWS Infra Eindhoven will be carrying out work on the N279 between kilometer markers 1.83 and 7.85 near Roggel and Heythuysen, on behalf of the Province of Limburg. The work will take place from the Roggel roundabout to just past the railroad tracks near Heythuysen. KWS will replace the top layer of asphaltandinstall a speed bump near Roggel. To minimize disruption, KWS will carry out this work in four phases.

Phase 2, scheduled from June 8, 2026, through June 12, 2026, will have a particularly significant impact on access to City Hall, as the entrance to the parking lot will be closed during this time. To ensure the town hall remains accessible to visitors, a temporary entrance and exit to the parking lot will be set up. The image below shows the temporary entrance and exit.

Explanation: “Changes to Traffic Conditions Near the Town Hall on N279”
- The access road will be set up as a one-way street (blue arrow), and you will drive over the road plates toward the parking lot.
- Please drive with extra caution, as the access road is narrow and there is bicycle traffic.
- If you are coming by bike, please dismount as you approach the bike rack to avoid dangerous situations.
- When leaving the parking lot, please follow the correct direction of travel.
- Please keep the entrance and exit to the police station clear in case of traffic congestion.
Detours and further information
To minimize traffic disruption, a large-scale detour route has been established via the A2. Local detours have also been set up on a phase-by-phase basis. These are clearly marked with yellow signs.
