Construction on the N273 under the N280

Why is this work necessary?

Recent research shows that the asphalt surface no longer meets the required standards. This poses a risk of further damage to the road. Winter frost, in particular, can cause existing damage to worsen rapidly.
To prevent further damage and more extensive repairs, the surface will therefore be replaced before winter. Due to the urgency of the situation, the work will be carried out in the near future.

Planning

The work will take place from 9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, through 5:00 a.m. on Monday, November 2*.
During this period, the intersection of the N273 under the N280 will be closed. Through traffic on the N273 will not be permitted. It will also not be possible to merge onto the N273 from the N280 or onto the N280 from the N273.

Accessibility

The following traffic restrictions will be in effect during the construction work:

• The "Terug in de Tijd" Museum, Mertens Transport, and Make it Easy Pet Salon will remain accessible, but are located within the cordoned-off area. 
• The bike path will remain open to cyclists during the construction work. Please keep in mind that in the event of an emergency, emergency services may also use the bike path.
• Emergency services follow a pre-determined route and, in an emergency, may use the bike path, among other routes.
• During the construction work, Arriva will operate on a modified route. Up-to-date information about the schedule and any canceled stops can be found on the Arriva website.

Detour Routes

To minimize traffic disruption as much as possible, a large-scale detour route will be set up. This route is marked in dark blue on the detour map.
