Construction Work on Grave Heibloem: Road Temporarily Closed
Starting Tuesday, October 27, the municipality of Leudal will be removing the synthetic grass tiles along the road. The work is expected to take about one and a half to two weeks.
Why are the tiles being removed?
The synthetic grass tiles have sagged and become detached from the road in several places over long stretches. This can create dangerous situations. To improve traffic safety and prevent damage, the tiles are being removed now. This is being done in anticipation of the bidding process for other roadwork. These projects are expected to be put out to bid in early 2027.
Reuse of the tiles
The municipality has found a new use for the synthetic grass tiles. They will get a second life at Boscafe De Busjop in Heythuysen, where they will be reused for the new parking spaces.
Road Temporarily Closed
During the work, the road will be closed to all traffic. A detour will be in effect via Heide and Caluna. The detour route will be marked with signs.
Local residents and emergency services will be notified in advance about the work and the road closure. The municipality asks road users to take the closure into account and follow the detour route.
