Finding good staff is already a challenge. But retaining good staff is truly worth its weight in gold — especially when it comes to employees with disabilities or additional support needs. That's where HARRIE comes in.

HARRIE stands for: Helpful – Alert – Realistic – Calm – Instructive – Honest

A HARRIE is the colleague in the workplace who ensures that an employee with additional support needs really comes into their own. The HARRIE training teaches your employees how to fulfill that role practically, effectively, and with confidence.

What are the benefits of HARRIE training for entrepreneurs?

1. Less downtime, higher productivity

Employees who receive good guidance are less likely to drop out. They know what is expected of them and are not afraid to ask for help. This means:

  • reduced absenteeism due to illness
  • lower recruitment and training costs
  • greater continuity in your business operations

2. Better cooperation in the workplace

After the HARRIE training, colleagues will know how to:

  • give clear and achievable assignments
  • stay calm when things go wrong
  • identify problems early on and make them discussable

This creates peace within the team and a pleasant working atmosphere for everyone.

3. Corporate social responsibility with visible impact

As an entrepreneur, you want to contribute to an inclusive labor market. By having a HARRIE in the workplace, you show that you offer opportunities to people who are distanced from the labor market—and that you do so professionally and seriously.

That's good for:

  • your image with customers and clients
  • procurement in which social entrepreneurship is taken into account
  • pride among your employees

4. Practical tools instead of "nice theory"

The HARRIE training is not a long theoretical course. Participants receive:

  • specific tips to implement tomorrow
  • guidance for difficult conversations
  • insight into what does and does not work in daily practice

In short: directly applicable in the workplace, without complicated jargon.

5. Stronger and more attractive as an employer

Companies with an inclusive culture are more attractive to new talent.
With HARRIE-trained colleagues, you demonstrate:

  • “With us, you can be different.”
  • “We invest in good employment practices.”

This appeals to new employees—even those outside the target group.

Who is the HARRIE training for?

  • Entrepreneurs and managers who work or want to work with people with disabilities
  • Colleagues who work directly with someone who needs extra support
  • HR staff and practical supervisors who want to achieve sustainable placements

Result

After the HARRIE training, you will have colleagues in your company who:

  • know how to properly support someone with a work disability
  • identify problems early and solve them together
  • ensuring that someone is not just "there," but truly participating

In other words: you invest in training once and reap the benefits of a stronger, more inclusive, and stable organization every day.
