Transportation facilities (Wmo)

What is it?

The municipality can help you if you can't get around in your own environment or can't get around enough. For example, due to an illness or disability. The municipality will look for a solution together with you. In certain cases you can apply for help to get around.

This help from the municipality is called a transportation facility. Examples of a transportation facility are collective (cab) transportation or a mobility scooter.

How does it work?

What support the municipality provides depends on what is the best solution for you. Together with the municipality, the first step is to see what solutions are possible together with people from your own environment. These may be family, friends or acquaintances, but also your neighbors, for example. We call this using your 'own strength'.

Does this not work or not enough? Then the municipality can arrange support in consultation with you.

Transport can be arranged by in-kind support (collective (cab) transport provided by Omnibuzz). You are only eligible for a personal budget for transportation if you cannot arrange your transportation with the in-kind transportation offered by the municipality.

For collective transport, you pay a co-payment per transport zone. For a mobility scooter, you pay a personal contribution of up to €21 per month. More information on the CAK website.

What to do.

I need help

To determine what kind of help is best for you, contact the municipality. This is called making a "notification" of your (help) request. You can do this easily using the notification form below.

Report your request for help

I filed a report. How to proceed now?

If necessary, a customer director of Wmo from the municipality will contact you to make an appointment for a personal interview. This can be at a location of your preference. You can always bring someone along, for example a family member or a professional social worker or client supporter, to the meeting with the client director. You can request free client support from Algemeen Maatschappelijk Werk Leudal (tel.: 088 - 656 06 00). During the conversation, we look at your question and what support is appropriate. But also what you can do yourself or with the help of your family or surroundings. We look for a tailor-made solution together with you.

What does it cost?

There is no charge for submitting a Wmo notification form.

How long does it take?

When you report for support, the municipality may take 8 weeks to process your report, interview and grant the facility. In practice, this may also be shorter.

It may take longer if, for example, outside consultants need to be consulted (e.g., medical advice) or if you yourself fail to provide certain information in time.

Additional information

The municipality is required by law to investigate the situation of people who come forward with a request for support. This investigation takes place together with the client and his surroundings. In this investigation, the municipality looks at what a person can still do themselves and how the environment can support them.

The municipality also looks at the support a person already receives from other laws, such as the Participation Act, Health Insurance Act or Youth Act. The investigation shows whether the client needs support. Each municipality organizes this investigation in its own way.
