Swimming pool vision update: next step in the tendering process
On October 7, 2025, the Municipal Executive decided to approve the decision to build a new swimming pool. There are two possible locations for this: Heythuysen or De Leistert. In addition, it was decided to put the operation of the new swimming pool out to tender.
Careful preparation
In order to carefully navigate this process, additional support has been requested. The council has asked for external expertise to be involved in the next step in the process: competitive dialogue. This approach will help to arrive at the best solution, in collaboration with market parties, that is in line with Leudal's wishes and ambitions.
Tender documents almost ready
Together with the external party, the official project group worked on the selection criteria and the accompanying tender documents. The documents will be published today, March 10, 2026, on TenderNed.
Dialogue with market parties
After publication, the deadlines will be announced and we will schedule dialogue meetings with market parties that respond to the request and meet the selection criteria. These meetings will focus on quality, feasibility, and future-proofing.
Contribution from residents and associations
We will take the input from swimming clubs and residents of Leudal, together with the principles from the swimming pool vision, into account as important starting points in the dialogue. In this way, we will ensure that the new swimming pool meets the needs of today and tomorrow.
We will keep residents and stakeholders informed of the next steps. Together, we are working on a swimming pool that suits Leudal.
