Extract of personal data BRP

Please note!!! The extract is currently taking longer to arrive because the postal service is taking longer to deliver it. 

What is it?

In the Basic Registration of Persons (BRP) contains details of everyone who lives or has lived in the Netherlands.

The extract will include at least your:

  • name
  • address
  • residence
  • date of birth

What to do.

You can request an extract of personal data BRP for:

  • yourself
  • your child living with you who is under 16 years of age
  • For someone else, if that person has authorized you to do so

You request your extract from the BRP from the municipality. There are several ways to do this.

Apply online

Apply for your BRP online. To do this, you will need the following items:

  • You can apply for this product entirely digitally using your DigiD login code. No DigiD yet? Go to the DigiD website and create your own account (free of charge).
  • You can pay for your order online using iDEAL.
  • Cost €5.00
  • Note: The municipality sends the extract by mail to you, the extract is currently taking longer to arrive because the mail takes longer to deliver it.

Personal request

Would you prefer to request the extract in person? Then make an appointment to do so.

Make an appointment (NL)

Please bring the following items to your appointment at the municipal office:

  • your valid ID
  • debit card or cash
  • Cost €9.50

Written request

Send the following items to the municipality:

  • letter stating why you need the extract
  • your signature on the letter
  • A copy of your valid ID
  • Cost €9.50

Authorize someone

Would you like to authorize someone to request your BRP? Then write a letter containing the following information:

  • the reason why you need the extract
  • name of agent
  • your signature
  • signature of authorized person

The authorized representative applies for your BRP in person at the municipal office. For this, the authorized representative brings the following documents:

  • valid proof of identity of the authorized person
  • (copy of) your valid proof of identity
  • the signed authorization letter

Requesting an extract from the Non-Resident Registration (RNI)

  • Do you live abroad? Or are you no longer registered with a Dutch municipality? If so, your personal data are listed in the Non-Residents Registration (RNI).
  • You can request an RNI extract from one of the RNI counter municipalities. You can get this document in several languages.

How long does it take?

  • If you request the extract in person at the municipality (do not forget to make an appointment for this), you will receive it immediately. This also applies if you authorize someone to do so.
  • If you request the extract online or in writing, the municipality will send it to you by mail.

Additional information

Multilingual model form

If you want to use a document in another EU country, which you have requested from the municipality, that authority may ask for a multilingual model form. This form is a translation of the document issued. The multilingual model form must always be submitted together with the original document.

How does it work?

You can request a multilingual model form only from the municipality that also issued the original document. Do you not yet have an original document? Then you can request it at the same time as the multilingual model form.

Cost

Cost for a multilingual model form is €9.50.

You pay fees for the multilingual model form and the cost of the original document.
