Displays on or along the road
What is it?
A display is a separate object placed in front of a building in a public space that is clearly related to the business activities of the company located in that building, which also includes:
- a portable advertising sign;
- items and substances that are part of a store's regular product range;
- display materials;
- playground equipment;
When may displays be placed on or along the road?
Displays on or along the road may be placed without a permit if the following regulations are met:
- The passageway for traffic must not be obstructed or impeded by the displays, and (traffic) safety must not be compromised.
- the display or intended use thereof does not cause any nuisance to users of nearby buildings;
- The display must ensure a minimum clearance of 1.5 meters for pedestrians and disabled persons on the sidewalk. The display must not be placed on guide lines for disabled persons.
- the display is only present during the opening hours of the store or business;
- The display may only be placed in front of the business itself on areas designated for pedestrians and not in front of the entrance to the business.
- All orders and instructions from the police, fire department, or special investigating officers, investigators, and/or inspectors must be followed promptly and immediately, otherwise the necessary measures will be taken at the expense of the person reporting the incident.
