Grant for the demolition of former commercial buildings

For whom is this scheme intended?

The grant is available to owners of businesses whose operations at the location have ceased and will remain ceased. A grant application may be submitted once per location for the demolition of the buildings.

When can you submit an application?

An application must be submitted no later than 12 weeks prior to the start of work.

What activities can you apply for a grant for?

• €35 per square meter of demolished commercial buildings
• €7.50 per square meter of demolished pavement

These funds can be used for:

• Demolition of commercial buildings and paving
• Removal and processing of demolition waste
• Preliminary studies
• Site restoration and leveling

What are the most important Requirements?

• The buildings must not be demolished and thus disappear permanently
• The demolition must not be part of any (future) redevelopment, such as new construction or a change of use
• Only legally constructed buildings are eligible
• Asbestos removal must be performed by a certified company
• Demolition work must be completed within 6 months of the grant being awarded

How much money is available? 

• €50,000 per former business location
• Annual grant ceiling: €200,000 (allocated on a first-come, first-served basis)
