What is it?

A banner is a stretched canvas with an expression of idealistic or cultural advertising whether or not attached to a structure (maximum size: 3m2), and not hung in a frame.

How does it work?

Do you want to hang a banner on or above the public road? If so, you do not need a permit or permission from the Municipality of Leudal. However, there are general rules that you must follow.

A banner may only be hung for idealistic advertising or cultural advertising. Idealistic advertising is any public commendation serving a general social interest (for example, on behalf of: a national or local collection agency, the local charity week, the action "We are going back to school" or "The schools are starting again").

Cultural advertising is a public commendation of artistic events, cultural and artistic activities (for example, for the purpose of Open Gate Day).

The following general rules apply:

  • It must be clear who is responsible for hanging and collecting the banners. The date of hanging the banners must be indicated on the banner;
  • A maximum of two banners for a particular purpose may be hung in each core;
  • the banner may hang for up to three weeks;
  • hanging a banner on private property requires permission from the owner;
  • the maximum area of the banner is 3 m2;
  • Banners must be hung at a minimum height of three meters;
  • the banner must be attached in a sturdy and sound manner. Fastening can be done by placing metal poles in the ground. The fastening and placement should not cause any damage;
  • the banner must not be attached to a light pole, traffic sign, traffic light;
  • traffic signs and traffic signals must remain visible;
  • the banner must not be hung above the roadway;
  • the banner must not create a hazard, nuisance or inconvenience;
  • Banners should not interfere with the efficient maintenance of the public realm or street furniture.

  • please note that the banner may not be attached to a light pole, road sign or traffic light;
