Starting a sex business
What is it?
If you want to start a sex business, first consult with the municipality whether this is possible and whether you need a license. Also, when your sex business is taken over or stops, report this to the municipality.
Sex companies include:
- sex cinemas
- brothels
- escort agencies
- erotic massage parlors
The establishment of the premises, the operation and the entrepreneur/manager must comply with various legal regulations. To determine whether you meet the regulations, the municipality will ask you to complete the Bibob questionnaire.
How does it work?
If you want to start a sex business, adhere to the following:
- The owner and any manager(s) are 21 years of age or older.
- The prostitutes working there are 21 years of age or older.
- The sex business fits into the municipality's environmental plan.
- The sex business meets the requirements in terms of furnishing, fire safety and business operations (including hygiene).
- The operator and any manager(s) must not be in receivership.
- The operator and any manager(s) must not have been deprived of parental authority or custody.
- The operator and any manager(s) are of impeccable conduct.
What to do.
Consult with the congregation in advance. In doing so, provide:
- a description of the company
- the name and address of the company
- The name and contact information of the owner and any manager(s)
What do I need?
- A copy of the ID of the owner and any manager(s).
- A statement of payment behavior fulfillment of tax obligations from the Tax Office.
- A lease or purchase agreement of the location of the sex business.
- Possibly a situation sketch and a site plan.
- A business plan.
What does it cost?
The cost for an application, renewal or modification of a license to operate a sex business is €1,982.85.
