Getting off to a good start together

With the traffic safety campaign 'Samen Goed op Weg' we want to make everyone aware of their own behavior in traffic. What can you do yourself to contribute to more safety in traffic? Not only for yourself, but also for other road users?

For years, the municipality has been committed to increasing road safety. This by taking measures such as speedometers, speed humps, traffic circles, road design, etc. However, this is not enough. Research shows that careless or inattentive traffic behavior is increasingly the cause of accidents or a reduced sense of safety. Driving too fast, not giving right of way to traffic, using your phone, invisibility of cyclists and pedestrians are examples of this. Through the campaign 'Samen Goed op Weg' we make people more aware of their own behavior in traffic and get them thinking. This with ultimately only one goal and that is more safety in traffic and fewer accidents with all their consequences!
Just think, what you yourself can do to increase your own safety. Or that of your children, when they ride their bikes to school. Do the lights work? Are they visible enough when biking back home in the dark? No matter what your goal of participating in traffic is. How can you
increase your own safety?
The municipality has supported national campaigns such as the BOB campaigns and "We go back to school" for years. We also actively and financially contribute to traffic education in primary and secondary schools. In addition, people are asked to take initiative and start something with the neighborhood/association/school or other club, around traffic safety.
