New City Council sworn in
During a festive council meeting on Wednesday, April 1, the new city council members were officially sworn in for the 2026–2030 term.

In the presence of the chair of the city council, Mayor Désirée Schmalschläger, they took the legally required oath or pledge. By taking the oath or pledge, the council members declared that they would perform their duties with integrity and to the best of their ability.

Farewells and Decorations
On Monday evening, March 30, a heartfelt farewell was bid to the following council members: Tim Knubben, Jordi Custers, Hilde Glessner, Richard Verheul, André Kierkels, Maarten Verschuuren, Evert Franzen, Peter van Melick, Dirk Jimmink, Leo Schouten, Rinke de Wit, and Thieu Bongers.
During this meeting, Jordi Custers and Richard Verheul were in the spotlight. Mayor Désirée Schmalschläger presented them with a Royal Honor, as both have served as council members for at least 12 years. They have been appointed members of the Order of Orange-Nassau.
