Mobility Plan 2021-2035

The current Municipal Traffic and Transport Plan (GVVP) of the municipality of Leudal including implementation program was adopted in 2015 and expired in 2020. According to the Planning Act on Traffic and Transport, the municipality must ensure the pursuit of a coherent and implementation-oriented traffic and transport policy, which gives direction to the decisions to be taken regarding traffic and transport. The Mobility Plan is the vehicle for this.

In addition, various trends are taking place both within and outside the world of mobility that call for new mobility policies. These include developments such as sustainability, ICT developments, various social developments (such as increasing aging and loneliness), but also economic developments (such as changes in the agricultural sector, the increase in tourism and also the effects of shrinkage). Also, the municipality of Leudal is currently working on a municipal environmental vision and a regional mobility vision is in the making. To keep in touch with these two processes, an update of the mobility policy is important.

The development directions that follow from the aforementioned visions require an update of the mobility policy. This mobility plan makes concrete what mobility in Leudal will look like in the coming years. This mobility plan approaches the challenges facing the municipality of Leudal by reasoning them out from the underlying values behind mobility. These values behind mobility enable us to formulate a long-term vision and concrete implementation for Leudal based on shared moral values. For example, we can approach mobility from the value of 'well-being' where we see mobility as a prerequisite for active participation in society.
