Information about IPPC companies
IPPC facilities are larger industrial plants. IPPC stands for Integrated Pollution and Prevention Control. Companies that exceed a threshold for production capacity or power fall under the European IPPC Directive. This directive is there to reduce pollutants from industrial activities.
In the municipality of Leudal, there are approximately 60 IPPC companies for which the municipality is the competent authority. Most are intensive livestock farms (poultry or pigs).
These companies always have an environmental permit. This integral permit must comply with the best available techniques established at the European level.
The municipality is required to make the environmental permit for IPPC companies available digitally. For this and for other questions about the Leudal IPPC companies, please contact the administration team VVTH by e-mail: administratievvth@leudal.nl.
