Hotline for calamities and incidents of violence Wmo and Youth Act
Under the Social Support Act 2015 (Wmo 2015) and Youth Act, providers are required to report an emergency or violence incident.
What is an emergency or violent incident?
An emergency is an unintended or unexpected event, which relates to the quality of Health and resulted in serious harm to or death of a client or parent. An incident of violence involves physical and mental abuse or unwanted touching to a client, by a staff member, volunteer or another client.
Examples of calamities and incidents of violence include:
- While providing domestic help, a client slipped on a wet floor and suffered a serious head injury.
- A client takes a drug overdose resulting in hospitalization.
- A client is touched lewdly by the social worker.
- A client is being bullied by other clients causing him to become anxious and not feel emotionally safe.
- A client goes missing and gets involved in a (traffic) accident.
- Suicide (attempt) of a client, possibly related to deficiencies in Health , for example, because there was inadequate supervision, poor communication or errors in transfer.
Report
Wmo
Report your calamities and incidents of violence within the Wmo using the report form.
Preferably immediately or the next business day. There you can also read the complete reporting procedure for calamities or incidents of violence. The supervisor Wmo of Midden-Limburg assesses whether further investigation is needed as a result of a report of an emergency or violent incident.
Youth Act
A calamity and violence incident within the Youth Act must be reported to both the municipality (using the above-mentioned report form) and the Healthcare and Youth Inspectorate (IGJ). On the Social Domain website you can read all the information about this.
