Apprenticeship pathway, obtain initial qualification

What is it?

Are you younger than 27 and do not have a diploma or a starting qualification? Then you can still obtain a starting qualification through a work-study program. The municipality offers you extra support.

How does it work?

If you belong to one of the following target groups, you can receive support with a work-study program:

  • You are 16 or 17 years old and subject to compulsory education
  • You are 18 to 27 and have not yet obtained an initial qualification

You can receive support for an apprenticeship only if:

  • the municipality finds that an apprenticeship is necessary and
  • the support is needed to follow an apprenticeship path.

You will be reimbursed for the cost of guidance on or to an apprenticeship.

What to do

The municipality can offer you support with a work-study program. Through werkcentrum.nl ( ), you can search for a work-study center (Leerwerkloket) in your area and a work-study center ( Make an appointment ) with an advisor who can provide free advice on learning and working.
