The MOB works for Dennis, Hamidreza and Hanifa!

For many people, Beek & Bos is more than just a place to work. It is an environment where you can catch your breath, take steps and participate again. The MensOntwikkelBedrijf (MOB) plays a key role in this. Dennis, Hamidreza and Hanifa tell how their path through the MOB brought them to Beek & Bos and what it means to them.

From fixing bikes to technology in the workplace

When Dennis dropped out of school, he ended up at the MOB. Here, he was given the opportunity to explore what he enjoyed doing at his own pace. "I already knew it had to be something technical," he says. Through the MOB, he was able to start repairing bicycles and then move on to the technical department at Beek & Bos.

Dennis explains:

It gave me structure, without too much pressure. I could work at my own pace. At Beek & Bos, I did odd jobs such as replacing light bulbs, moving furniture, and painting rooms. If things didn't go well, they were understanding. Together, the MOB and Beek & Bos helped me get back among people. Now I'm ready for the next step.

A new beginning in a new land

For Hamidreza, the MOB meant a fresh start in the Netherlands.

When I came here, I knew I had to start over. Thanks to the MOB, I was given that opportunity. The counseling was patient, kind and built step by step. They gave me the confidence to move forward. For that, I am very grateful.

Through the MOB, Hamidreza came to Beek & Bos.

I feel at home there. The colleagues are friendly, the atmosphere is good. It feels like a second family. I am proud to be able to contribute to helping the elderly and vulnerable. That motivates me every day.

A new workplace and a new language

Hanifa also found her way to Beek & Bos through the MOB. After a period without work, her job coach Rita helped her find suitable work. Hanifa now works 25 hours a week.

It's enjoyable work, close to home, and with great colleagues. I have fixed working hours and know who I can turn to.

At first, it took some getting used to.

In Syria, where I come from, older people usually live with family. Here, it's different. Still, it quickly felt familiar. My language skills have improved because I speak with colleagues every day. And every day is different: I clean the restaurant, replenish the laundry, or vacuum the chapel. It's nice to be active again.

MOB as a springboard

In all the stories, the MOB plays a connecting role. It offers people space to discover, build and regain perspective. The combination with a workplace like Beek & Bos - where guidance, peace and trust are central - makes it possible to really participate again.

Working together for the future

The MensOntwikkelBedrijf guides vulnerable residents and benefit recipients to suitable work. Because in Leudal everyone should be able to participate. The MOB is located at Graaf van Loonlaan 2a in Heythuysen and has a free walk-in during office hours.
