The MOB works for Anthony!

Winter is the time of year when the outdoor crew of the MensOntwikkelBedrijf (MOB) works hard to get the borough ready for the upcoming season. One of the winter jobs currently being done is the maintenance of the benches scattered throughout the borough. These benches will be picked up and completely refurbished, so that in the summer we can once again enjoy sitting in the familiar places. Recently work has been done on the benches in Ittervoort, where Brian and Anthony have been working hard to get the benches back in top condition.

A new opportunity

Anthony's story is special and fits perfectly with the mission of the MOB. His story is one of new opportunities. A few months ago, he came to Leudal after going through a difficult time in his personal life. It was a challenge to take steps towards paid work again, but through the MOB pathway he got the chance to find his energy and motivation again. Anthony describes this period as a "fine period" during which he was not only physically active, but also appreciated working with other participants. Anthony:

Work and conversations with colleagues made me feel valuable again and gave me the energy to keep going.

Making a difference

It is precisely the combination of work, structure and contact with others that made the difference for Anthony. Where he had been stuck before, he was now able to take steps toward his future again. And that future is closer than he thought. Thanks to his efforts and the support of the MOB, he has a job perspective again. A perspective he probably would not have had without the support of the MOB. He is extremely grateful for the guidance and opportunities he has received. The work combined with the conversations with colleagues has helped him not only physically, but also mentally. And with the positive vibes he has gained here, he looks to the future with confidence.

Feel welcome

Anthony has settled in well in Leudal, where he feels welcome and supported. And that is exactly what the MOB wants to achieve: helping people find their way, supporting them and taking them another step forward in their personal and professional development. We are proud of Anthony and the efforts of this outdoor team. Which therefore does much more than just work.

Working together for the future

The MensOntwikkelBedrijf guides vulnerable residents and those entitled to benefits into suitable work. Because in Leudal everyone should be able to participate. The MensOntwikkelbedrijf is located at Graaf van Loonlaan 2a in Heythuysen and has a free walk-in during office hours.
