Redevelopment of the Former Hunsel Sports Complex
The municipality of Leudal is working on the redevelopment of the former sports complex in Hunsel. A new residential area is being built at this location to meet the housing needs of Hunsel and the surrounding area.

The housing construction program consists of:
- 8 social housing units owned by Wonen Limburg;
- 3 senior housing units from VOZ;
- 9 affordable homes for sale from VOZ;
- 4 vacant building lots owned by the municipality.
This development will transform the former sports field into a sustainable and future-proof project that fits in with the village and its surroundings. The combination of rental units, affordable owner-occupied homes, senior housing, and building lots for private development will create a diverse housing mix for various target groups.
Current Status
The municipality has now begun preparing the site for construction. During this phase, the site is being readied for future housing development. The work includes earthwork, the installation of the necessary infrastructure, and the preparation of utility connections.
In addition, the utility companies will soon begin laying cables and pipes. This work represents an important step in the preparations for the housing construction project.
Some of the landscaping will be completed during the site preparation phase. This will be timed to coincide with the 2026 planting season, so that the vegetation can develop in a timely manner. Housing construction is scheduled for 2027.
Once construction is complete, work will begin on preparing the area for residential use. During this phase, the final roads, parking spaces, sidewalks, streetlights, and the remaining landscaping will be installed, among other things. This will give the new residential area its final layout.
