Town Hall will be difficult to reach from June 8 through June 12

Starting June 1, 2026, KWS will begin work on the N279 between kilometer markers 1.83 and 7.85, as commissioned by the Province of Limburg. This section runs from the Roggel roundabout to just past the railroad tracks near Heythuysen.

To minimize disruption, the work will be carried out in four phases along the route. The image below shows the phased plan. Access to City Hall will be particularly limited during Phase 2, from Monday, June 8, at 7:00 a.m. through Friday, June 12, at 6:00 p.m., due to the construction work.

Overview of the 4 phases

During Phase 2, the roundabout on the N279 near Dokter Smitslaan and the access road to the town hall parking lot will be closed. As a result, it will not be possible to enter the parking lot via the usual route. To ensure that the town hall remains accessible to visitors, a temporary entrance and exit to the parking lot will be set up. The image below shows the temporary entrance and exit.

  • When leaving the parking lot, please follow the correct direction of travel.
  • Please keep the entrance and exit to the police station clear in case of traffic congestion.
