A Future-Ready Leudal: Realism as a Compass

With the 2027 budget, the Municipal Executive is taking a realistic look at the future, while also leaving room for innovation. The new coalition program serves as the guiding principle in this regard. At the same time, the financial future requires tough choices and prioritization.

Key Priorities

The municipality is committed to providing sufficient and suitable housing, strong villages, and an attractive living environment. Other key priorities include a strong social foundation with amenities close to residents, appropriate sports and community facilities, a vibrant rural area, and sustainability.
These goals are being realized in collaboration with residents, businesses, and community organizations. Special attention is being given to improving municipal services and reducing the financial burden on residents (for example, regarding waste collection).

A Prudent Financial Course

At the same time, Leudal is pursuing a realistic and prudent financial course. In 2027, the budget balance will still be positive. However, due to rising costs and declining state revenues, the financial position will be under structural pressure starting in 2028. For this reason, the Municipal Executive will take the time in the coming period to work with the new city council to make well-considered and future-proof decisions.

Society's Needs

On the one hand, we are facing major societal challenges and the implementation of ongoing plans, while on the other hand, we are on the eve of a very challenging financial period. This means we must make clear choices—choices that prioritize the needs of our society, both now and in the future.

In this way, Leudal continues to build a municipality that is close to its residents and businesses, listens to them, and harnesses their strengths. By anticipating future budget deficits in a timely manner, we will be able to continue working toward our shared ambition: a vibrant rural municipality with a healthy economy and strong villages where everyone can participate. In short, a wonderful life in Leudal!
