Village Councils

The municipality of Leudal has 16 villages but only one administrative center. To ensure good communication between the municipality and its residents, village councils or village consultative bodies have been established. In total, there are now 16 village councils or village consultative groups in the municipality. The primary task of a village council is to communicate to the municipality what residents consider important for the quality of life in their village.

Conversely, the municipality can ask the village council for advice on important issues for the village. Nowadays, village councils increasingly focus on establishing contacts between residents and supporting resident initiatives. This is why they are increasingly referred to as 'village consultations'.
