Nearly 100 Years on the Road: Kuypers in Neer

In 2027, the Kuypers transportation company— Neer —will celebrate its 100th anniversary! A special moment for Ellen and Fernando Kuypers, who are carrying on the family business.

It all began in 1927 with transportation services for the horticultural association. Since then, Kuypers has grown into a modern transportation company with about 40 trucks. A lot has changed over the years, but the family atmosphere has remained. Knowing one another and being involved in the company: it’s precisely that personal touch that makes all the difference.

Innovation will remain important in the future as well. Kuypers can call itself the greenest transportation company in the Netherlands. Among other things, the company operates a fully electric truck and trains new employees through the Limburg Logistics Vocational School.

What have nearly 100 years of entrepreneurship taught Ellen and Fernando? That you have to reinvent the business every 10 to 15 years.

It’s wonderful to hear from Ellen and Fernando about how they’re building for the future while staying true to what makes Kuypers special.

"It's wonderful to see how a family-owned business from Leudal has continued to operate, innovate, and look to the future for nearly a hundred years. That kind of entrepreneurship is of great value to our municipality."
