Visit to van Heur Construction & Maintenance

Alderman Graef and account manager Michiel Boers recently paid a working visit to Van Heur Bouw & Onderhoud in Kelpen-Oler. A reliable and well-established construction company where quality, craftsmanship, and versatility come together.

Van Heur Bouw & Onderhoud works on a wide range of projects: from complex renovations of historic buildings and work at industrial plants subject to strict safety requirements to the construction of a theater with unparalleled acoustics. But it’s just as capable of building an office extension. It is precisely this combination that makes the company surprisingly versatile.

Conversations about innovation and craftsmanship

Managing Director Marc Pluijmakers and Director Roy Nicolaye are at the helm of this Limburg-based construction company, which is part of the VB Group—a nationwide group of family-owned businesses in the development and construction sectors. The Kelpen-Oler office now employs 124 staff members, and every day more than 500 employees and subcontractors are involved in Van Heur projects. During the visit, discussions focused on developments within the construction sector, innovation, craftsmanship, and the challenges related to staffing and sustainability. Alderman and Michiel Boers also got a behind-the-scenes look at the company’s operations and ambitions.

Alderman Michel Graef:

It’s wonderful to see how a company like Van Heur Bouw & Onderhoud, based in Kelpen-Oler, works on projects throughout Limburg. A company with strong roots in Limburg, where craftsmanship, innovation, and dedication come together. As a municipality, we have every reason to be proud of that.
