What is it?
To visit the Netherlands, some foreign visitors need a visa. To obtain this visa, a guarantor declaration is required in a number of cases.
In the proof of sponsorship and/or lodging you explain why you invited the person. For example, for a vacation. This helps the person to get the visa.
What to do.
Check the on the site of 'Nederlandwereldwijd' which nationalities require a visa.
You must fill out a form and have the signature from it legalized at the municipality. If you are married or in a registered partnership, you must both be present at the municipality and both sign there.

Do not sign the form yet! Because your signature must be legalized, you may only sign in the presence of the municipality official.
How long does it take?
The municipality immediately legalizes your signature. Then you will receive the form back immediately.
