What is a refund?
Sometimes you get back municipal taxes that you have paid, for example, if you move and have already paid all municipal taxes for this year. You will receive automatic notification of this from the municipality.

How does it work?
Departure from municipality
If you are going to live in another municipality, you can get a refund of the garbage tax, sewer tax and possibly the dog tax. In the new municipality, you will pay these again.
Moving within municipality
If you move within the municipality, you usually won't get a refund. If you move to a nursing or care home or move in with someone else, you can sometimes still get a refund.
