Feedback on the Buiten Beter app
- At a previous meeting, the Youth Council noted that the Buiten Beter app is not well known among young people. This is despite the fact that it can be used to report a wide range of issues to the municipality, such as vandalism, illegal dumping, etc. The Youth Council has proposed that more attention be given to promoting the app among young people in future communications.
Pien shared this feedback with her colleagues in Communications and Spatial Management. They are now discussing how to promote the Buiten Beter app among young people.
An employee from the Communications Department offered several ideas on how the Youth Council can help promote the Buiten Beter app.
In addition, the Youth Council suggests putting up a sign with information about the app in areas where a lot of nuisance is reported.

Feedback on the question about mountain bike trails
During the meeting on November 13, 2025, a member of the Youth Council asked about the mountain bike trails available in Leudal.
At this time, there are no official mountain bike trails in the municipality of Leudal. In the Central Limburg region, a feasibility study is underway for a regional mountain bike network. As part of this project, a number of pilot routes will likely be established, possibly including some in the municipality of Leudal. For now, the focus is not on the Leudal nature reserve, but on other areas within the municipality. For the Leudal nature reserve, a recreational zoning plan is being developed in collaboration with Staatsbosbeheer and the Province of Limburg. The purpose of this zoning plan is to protect natural and landscape values.
Recruiting new members
- The communications officer from the municipality of Leudal will join us to brainstorm ideas on how we can recruit new members.
The following ideas will be discussed:- Word-of-mouth promotion by current members of the Youth Council
- Raise awareness of the Youth Council among the school's student council
- Hand out posters and flyers at school (including at Connect in Echt, since many young people from Leudal go there too).
- Share the Youth Council poster on the digital screens at school
- Teaching guest lessons during social studies classes about the youth council
- Make a video of the youth council
- Photo of the Youth Council at the Hallo
- Put up posters in supermarkets, community centers, the library, workplaces, and sports clubs.
The Youth Council wants to start putting up posters and flyers in schools, supermarkets, community centers, the library, workplaces, and sports clubs. A member of the Youth Council will also inquire whether the poster can be displayed on the digital screens at school.
During the next meeting, the members of the Youth Council will bring the posters and flyers to distribute.
Pien will send a number of posters to the community centers, since many young people visit those places during Carnival.
If these efforts do not result in new members, guest lessons can still be held at school.

Debate Course
- The members of the Youth Council were asked how they felt about the debate course held on December 2.
The young people all found the course very enjoyable and interesting. They really liked the trainer because he is the same age as them.
In the future, however, it should be organized only for new members; those who have already taken the course do not need to take it again.
