Accommodation Policy
The municipality of Leudal consists of sixteen villages, each with its own identity, character and club life. For all villages within Leudal, maintaining livability is an important task. Facilities play an important role in this, as they contribute to social cohesion, a sense of community and accessible meeting opportunities within villages.
To achieve this, Leudal adopted an accommodation policy in 2020, aimed at stimulating social ownership and facilitating use by associations, foundations and other social organizations. As a result of this accommodation policy, a number of issues have become visible that require further deepening and updating of the policy.
Deepening on accommodation policy
As a municipality of Leudal, we are now working on deepening the accommodation policy. We want to sustainably provide functions and activities that fit the needs of our residents, now and in the future. This concerns the social accommodations: indoor and outdoor sports accommodations, community centers, youth and youth accommodations, libraries and militias. Thanks to this deepening there will be more clarity, coherence and transparency about the accommodations in our municipality.
Where are we now?
In December 2024, the College of B&W adopted the administrative order "Follow-up steps accommodation policy. Based on this, three distinct phases were completed:
- Step 1: Create insight & overview;
- Step 2: Develop implementation frameworks;
- Step 3: implementation (from 2026).
The draft policy document finalized in September 2025 is the result of phase 2 and, once adopted by the City Council (scheduled for November 2025), will kick off the implementation phase.
Looking forward to the next phase
After adoption of the policy framework by the City Council (these are on the agenda of the committee of October 20, 2025 and the City Council of November 18, 2025(View the meeting documents)), we will start working on an implementation plan. Even during the implementation phase of this policy, we will continue to be in structural contact with you. How, what and when will follow after we have a first look through of the first implementation components in 2026.
